Meet The Team

Meet, Renae – Co-Founder and Director

Care For Women began its life 3 weeks after Renae’s third child was born and she felt completely overwhelmed despite having a supportive husband and mother helping her. From ideas first scribed in a notebook then shared with other women, Care For Women was a passion growing in her heart for a long time. Prior to Care For Women, Renae founded and ran “Free To Be Talks”, a positive body image non-profit organization that over 3000 youth received.

Renae is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who primarily works with children, youth and families who have been impacted by trauma and attachment disruptions in both her private practice and work with Complex Trauma Resources.

Renae is very passionate about many things and it seems all 4 of her kiddos have followed in her footsteps, so they constantly keep her on her toes with all their interests. She loves cycling with her husband, hiking, writing and reading (especially Harry Potter and Chronicles of Narnia to her older kids).

Meet, Kenzi – Co-Founder and Director

Kenzi is passionate about seeing women supported during the difficult transition to motherhood. Having watched her own mother manage as a single parent with four children, as well as Kenzi losing her mother while her second baby was still in utero, Kenzi longs to see women coming alongside women when they need it most. Kenzi loves casting vision for where Care For Women is heading and providing leadership for this growing, passionate team of women.

Outside of Care For Women, Kenzi works as a marriage therapist in her private practice and considers it the biggest honour to walk alongside couples who are feeling disconnected. Kenzi is also married to Matt, who is her greatest earthly gift and who keeps Kenzi laughing from morning to night. Kenzi and Matt have three firecracker children who serve as constant entertainment.

Meet, Tricia – Program Director

Tricia is the ambitious “Program Director” at Care For Women.

Prior to this, she was the “Marketing Director” for a local shopping centre. Her favorite part of this previous role was collaborating with like-minded businesses and non-profits to provide a “leg up” in the amazing work that they do in our community.

Tricia can see the 0s and 1s in all that we do (Matrix reference in case you weren’t sure 😉 ) and she knows when the program needs to shift, coordinate a fundraiser, or collaborate in a partnership; and then she gets it done. We don’t need to explain any further why she is our Program Director.

In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer, connect with friends in nature, coloring or doing puzzles.

She is a wife to her wonderful husband Tim and a mother of three!

Meet, Joyce – Program Coordinator

Joyce is the incredible “Program Coordinator” at Care For Women.

Joyce has a gift when connecting with others – she has a special way of making them feel seen and heard, so we knew she was the woman for the job!

She keep tracks of, matches and supports all of our volunteer mentor and mothers and fields all care inquiries. She particularly loves meeting women with caring hearts who want to volunteer as mentors; watching them operate with sacrifice and generosity as they walk new moms through this enormous life changing transition into motherhood; hearing from the mentees what blessings they have been; and being able to work together with a wonderful team who are passionate about Care For Women.

In her previous role working for an MLA (Member of the BC Legislative Assembly) she served and helped members of the community with various challenges and found resources for them.

Joyce spends much of her spare time with her five grandchildren, husband, two daughters, and looking after five beautiful acres in the Mt. Lehman community.  Her family is extremely important to her.

Meet, Sara – Operations Coordinator

Sara is our hard working Operations Coordinator.

She is incharge of various administrative responsibilities such as processing donations, managing our webpage, maintaining our social media platforms, email communication management and much more.

Sara can successfully juggle 18 completely different things at a time in the air and have them land exactly when and where she wants them to, this is why she is the master operations coordinator.

She is a wife to her highschool sweetheart, Graeme, and is a mother of 3 – eight years old and under.

Sara’s favorite part of working at Care For Women is being able to provide for her family while simultaneously making a difference in the lives of families around her.

She has a hard time sitting still and loves to keep busy! – If she does find herself having spare time, she loves to bake, spend time with her family, eat unhealthy amounts of chocolate.
