No mother should feel alone

FREE postpartum care for mothers, by mothers, in the Fraser Valley.

We believe motherhood was never meant to be done alone.

Yet too many mothers of newborns feel isolated, disconnected, and overwhelmed by the challenges within motherhood. Mothers are vulnerable during the postpartum period, and when they lack the social support they need it increases the risks of depression, anxiety, and attachment challenges that can impact a growing baby and their families for the long term.

Care For Women is here to change that. We exist to come alongside mothers in the intense first weeks of their newborns’ lives, surrounding them with emotional, physical and tangible support they need to thrive.

We believe supporting mothers means supporting babies for a healthier and stronger community.

What We Do

Care For Women provides practical support for new moms that can positively impact

their families for life.

Mentorships

A volunteer mentor provides 1:1 in-home care by being a listening ear, holding baby or doing light household chores so mom can rest.

Meals

Meals are prepared and delivered to mothers and their families to lighten the load.

Cleaning

A professional cleaning service is arranged in the mother’s home after baby is born.

Transportation

Transportation to and from newborn medical appointments is provided, if needed.

Studies have shown that supporting mothers during the postpartum period leads to better outcomes for moms and babies. We want to be the village that surrounds mothers in need, so they can face the challenging postpartum weeks knowing that they’re not alone. Visit our page Why Support Mothers to learn more.

What Our Mothers Are Saying

“This is an amazing program and I believe all moms need this type of service. Thank you all so much for your help and support.”

“[My mentor] was amazing. She was super friendly, super intuitive, and very helpful. She was always willing to help with whatever I needed and brought a lot of happiness and joy to our home with her bubbly personality. We absolutely fell in love with her!
I was very happy with the service. I really appreciate the help a lot. Even an hour of someone’s time to help with laundry or holding the baby makes such a massive difference. Thank-you from the bottom of my heart for this service.”

“Very helpful and patient. Perseverance when I did not answer because either tired or overwhelmed after c section and up at night feeding new baby. Mentor was very caring and understanding. Flexible and able to gauge how to help me with pressure.”

Thank you for your support! [My mentor] helped me so much more than I would have ever expected.  Just having her to talk to on Thursdays each week was something for me to look forward to. Thankyou to everyone at Care For Women. You’ve made the transition to being a mom so much smoother and helped boost my confidence with my newborn 🙂”

Mothers in your neighbourhood need your help.

About Us

Care For Women Foundation has been a service that has been growing in our hearts for a long time. Ideas first scribbled in a notebook. Then shared with other women. Together, Renae Regehr, Amanda Adamson and Kenzi Dirks began the process of bringing Care For Women Foundation to existence. With 10 kids between them through home births, hospital deliveries and adoption, they understand it truly “takes a village” to raise kids and do life well.

With all three of us founders being clinical counsellors, we understand that supporting mothers means supported babies. Learn more about our heart for mothers:
